Extract and Dustin Milligan - Movie Review
Ever since I saw the trailer for this movie, I knew I was going to go when it hit the theatre. No it wasn’t because of Mike Judge, and no it wasn’t because of Mila Kunis. Having said that of course, I would REALLY like to meet Mila. I saw her on the Tonight Show recently and she was so unbelievably down to earth. And she is definitely a hotty. But I digress. No, the reason I wanted to see this movie was because of the character Brad played by Dustin Milligan. About four years ago I was directing and shooting a reality pilot that we were going to pitch to broadcasters. And yes, Dustin Milligan was one of the actors in this pilot. At the time, he had just moved down from Yellowknife and was going to try and make it as an actor. He actually just happened upon this pilot we were shooting and we had him do a scene in a staged acting class. After he had finished, we were all blown away. The room was silent. All I can tell you is that this kid has talent. Real talent. The fact that he has worked opposite Pierce Brosnan, others, and now Ben Affleck in such a short period of time only shows you just how talented this kid is. It was only 2004 when we shot this pilot, and now 2009, only 5 years later, Dustin has managed to climb to the top. I guarantee you will see this kid for a long time to come. His character Brad was awesome. In fact, his character was one of the most funny parts in this film. He is so natural. It was awesome. I have to say, that when I saw 90210 when the new season started, the only actor I found was believable was Dustin’s character Ethan. Acting is something that just comes so naturally to him. So, thumbs up to extract, and two thumbs up to Dustin Milligan. He is a true star and I guarantee you will be seeing more of him. Congratulations Dustin!!
